Access to pre and primary education is
very low and poor quality education dampens children’s prospects of a
productive future. Most children, especially those in rural areas, enter
primary school poorly prepared due to the lack of access to early stimulation,
poor nutrition and the low quality of pre and primary education.
School going children often do not
achieve foundational learning outcomes such as literacy, numeracy and life
skills which determine future performance. Children living in underserved
communities are most vulnerable to dropping out of school or never go to
school.
Kalamu Education Foundation is aiming
to support the government to ensure that children in target areas access pre
and primary education by advocating for the implementation of policies that
address to improve education status in Tanzania.
A pre form one and secondary school orientation program is the program that is focused on enabling the primary school leavers to be oriented on secondary school studies as it is more different from their primary school studies.
